Vintique – A Vintage and Retro Boutique located at 131 W. Wisconsin Avenue, Downtown Neenah, WI 54956. www.vintiqueboutique.com.
Vintique is a combination of vintage, antique, boutique, and unique. Specializing in dresses, jackets and coats – the new clothing has a vintage, retro or romantic inspiration. A great shop to step back in time and to find an ensemble that will be different!
At Vintique you will also find Dawn Koehler’s unique line of jewelry created from vintage textured barkcloth fabric. Her beautiful designs are
one-of-a-kind hand-crafted brooches, chokers (like shown on left), and earrings. Dawn has searched for and carefully hand-selected from the almost extinct original barkcloth fabric dating back to the 30’s and 40’s. Barkcloth is a type of cotton with a special weave that gives it a nubby texture like tree bark. It is a durable medium-to-heavy weight fabric best suited for upholstery and window treatments. In the 40’s, barkcloth was one of the most common fabrics used in the home for this purpose.
Dawn’s sensitivity to color, texture, and form, combined with the embellishment of eclectic materials, make each barkcloth jewelry piece enduring, enjoyable, and a fun piece of art to wear or display. Her artistic composition, along with the vintage barkcloth fabric, make her jewelry pieces truly unique.
