Gardening

An outdoor extention of your home and personality. The well-planned and designed garden, careful planting, and maintenance are important elements taught by Dawn to establish a look that is uniquely yours.

Dawn will show you how to take the personality from your home and transfer it into our yard and gardens. Learn how to plan and design according to your needs and personal tastes, while you also learn the requirements of the living or structural elements you choose to place into your gardens.

Dawn’s garden workshops provide you with the basic knowledge of soil preparation, plant selection, planting, and maintenance. She also will teach you how to organize and develop a plan to help you create a beautiful outdoor living space (like those shown on left).

Workshops are priced according to the amount of material covered per each workshop. Group rates are offered to groups of 12 or more.

Make your garden look and feel extra special when you create garden décor items that add a touch of your distinct personality.

Uniquely framed succulents are designed for your outdoor viewing pleasure. It is a great way to recycle some of those old frames while creating an exciting and new way to display these fun plants (like shown on left). Succulents are a "full sun" plant. They are drought tolerant and need very little water. These frames are free standing or you may later add your own hardware to hang them. The hardy succulents need to remain outside during the winter months in the snow to keep enjoying them year after year.

This framed succulents workshop with Dawn is a two to three-hour hands-on workshop usually held during the months of April, May, and June.

$40 fee per person, per one small framed box. This includes all materials needed for you to put together and design one unique small framed box (5 x 7 or 8 x 10 inch) filled with beautiful different textured succulents.

Guests may choose from a collection of frames provided, or drop off a frame of your choice. A larger frame size will require additional costs for materials and succulents. Frame selection and/or drop off should be made at least one week before the workshop date. A box for each frame will be partially constructed and ready for you prior to the workshop.

Bring gardening gloves if you prefer and a heavy duty wire cutter if you have one. Be prepared to work outside or in the garage (rain or shine) while handling materials such as wood, wire fencing, aluminum, potting soil, plants and power tools.
