Crystallized Flowers
Embellish dessert treats, and more, with beautiful and delightful tasting crystallized flowers. Your family and friends will feel extra special when you take the time to garnish and decorate with edible flowers. When placed in a confection box, these creations make very sweet gifts.
At Dawn's three-hour hands-on workshop, you will learn how to crystallize and use edible flowers to embellish food items such as cookies (upper left), petit fours, cakes, cupcakes, breads, muffins and more. You will also learn how to make and apply various icings, fondants, glazes, etc., that will be used with the flowers to create fabulous mouthwatering presentations.
Flower crystallizing workshops are usually held during the flower blooming months of April through July. Flower varieties provided will be based on availability at the time of the workshop. If you have flowers available to bring and possibly share with others, please be aware that the flowers need to be organically grown, without chemical pesticides. This eliminates any edible flowers from a florist, garden center, nursery, or roadside.
$30 fee per person includes: about 20 edible flowers, all food items, recipes, a demonstration on how to crystallize flowers, and step-by-step instructions on how to turn ordinary food into works of art.
Guests will be instructed prior to each workshop as to what they will need to bring to prepare and transport their works of art home.
